Alex Yee and Hayden Wilde gave us a very succinct lesson about what authenticity and empowerment means in the Olympic triathlon in Paris. A race for the ages that will not be quickly forgotten, perhaps a turning point of sorts.
It’s considered soft to talk about love in the realm of sport. To many, it’s considered almost hippy to bring these types of messages. But, here’s the thing, love is the most transformational power we have available to us.
When we move away from love, we move away from power! At the root of our ability to endure anything is the love of it.
The idea that resilience is made of a Stoic ignorance of yourself and others is a disconnect that robs us blind. If you can reach down into your guts, heart and soul and access love, you will suffer almost anything for it.
Don’t believe it?
What would you put up with to save a loved one from suffering?
That’s real power! You are not separate from that, you are made of it. At the core of everything we do is some form of love.
Empowerment then is really about being in touch with your own love. There is real courage in allowing yourself to be seen in it without the hiding that separates us from our own essential power.
To move into our power, we have to let go of the fear of being seen.
Love is not a weakness, it is the tower of strength on which every single thing you experience is built.
That’s real, that’s authentic, and it’s powerful.
