Unless you bring a high degree of awareness to your plan, you will default to your old pattern. That’s a problem, because nothing new comes from the old.
Sure, we can change the plan, change coaches, shuffle the order, change out equipment or environments. But you can’t change out yourself.
Everywhere you go, there you’ll be….Often there’s a feeling of a lack of oxygen in our repetitive training. Robotic movement patterns and the corresponding mental fatigue can make it heavy.
We often change things that don’t need changing on an outer level and end up lost and confused. But it’s not your plan, it’s your pattern!
If you are bored and apathetic, it’s because you are not challenged. The reason you are not challenged is that you are not present.
You’re so busy trying to get to the next weigh point that you’ve lost contact with the process right here. That’s apathy in production right there.
There is something to find in every single session, some nuance, a one percenter that you think doesn’t matter. How many of those one-percenters are going through to the keeper because you “think” you are bored shitless?
Habits are hard to break, so we need to create healthy thinking habits that support our level of focus. Because the session is a mirror of your mental state.
That session is what you think it is. If you are off with the pixies, the session is off with the pixies.
However, if you get in your body and in your ground. If you anchor yourself to the present moment and refuse to leave it regardless of what happens, one-percenters become twenty-percenters very fast.
It dissolves apathy, eradicates patterns, and puts thinking into the correct relationship with the task. Thinking should support your task, not hinder it!
